The Badgers won the toss and decided to bat on a glorious day at the RCG. P. Addison and Hubbard got off to a flier, cashing in on some wayward bowling from the visitors. The openers for the Badgers got stuck in early on and were cruising at 123 off 19 overs. J. Ridgeway halted the party by removing the pair in quick succession, but fortunately for the Badgers, Coops picked up the mantle and made a blistering 35 before being caught cheaply. The Badgers looked to be amassing a monumental score before Lucy Yates came on and stifled the run rate with some nifty swing bowling. She took a cool 4-26 as Risley ended their 40 overs with a solid looking 236-7.
With the sun still pouring all over the RCG Rolleston started their innings slowly and wickets began to tumble straightaway, despite Risley playing roundabouts with all their bowling changes and 1 over spells. Jack Prescott made a useful looking 33 before he was undone by his opposite keeper with a special bit of stumping. Halford disposed of the Rolleston top order (4-23) and the skipper tucked into the middle order (4-26) leaving Rolleston on the brink of Failure. However, young J. Ridgeway and the Rolleston Skipper refused to give up and courageously batted through the final 10 overs, despite the pressure being piled on, to ensure that they didn't go home empty handed. J. Ridgway in particular put in a stout performance considering his youthfulness. Risley settled for the 19 point winning draw and stay at the top of the league and Rolleston take home 8 points.
