Rolleston Juniors at Lord's!

24/09/2013 19:40
On Saturday as guests of Yorkshire Bank five of our juniors were treated to see the YB40 final at Lords. Lucy Yates was lucky enough to be asked to be the mascot for Nottinghamshire and was seen on Sky TV as the captains tossed up before the game. The invitation followed the very successful opportunity in July for 20 youngsters to spend an hour being coached by Alastair Cook at the Gateway Centre of Derbyshire County Cricket Club. The scheme is all part of Yorkshire Banks on-going...

06/07/2013 09:30
Our Junior players have enjoyed the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of meeting and being coached by England skipper Alastair Cook. The event, part of the Yorkshire Bank’s sponsorship of cricket through their “Giving Bat to Cricket” project, took place at Derbyshire CCC on July 4th. The youngsters were treated to expert batting coaching from the man who has already scored over 7,500 Test runs, becoming the youngest player to pass 7,000 runs in the process. Cook, in his role as a Yorkshire...

It was clear that this problem could not be ascribed simply to climate change. An...

It is gratifying to know that our youth development programme and overall management have been formally acknowledged as first-rate and are helping to create a bench mark for high quality...

Season 2008 Review

17/11/2008 22:05
In 2008, for the first time in the club’s history, we fielded four Saturday XIs in addition to the five existing junior sides, continuing the expansion of the club’s activities and giving an opportunity for even more members to participate in the sport each weekend. The First Team had a disappointing season, finishing in mid-table after being well in contention for promotion at the half-way stage of the season when the side was in third place.  Indeed, after the victory at Nutbrook...
